Texas State Board of Education

The chairman of the Texas board of education apparently believes that the earth is only several thousands of years old. How do these people get elected? There is really no way you can rationally believe that the earth is only 6,000 years old in this day and age. Everything from tree rings to ice cores to radiocarbon dating indicates that the earth is very old.

Here's the link to the article if anyone is interested.. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/22/education/22texas.html

Heretic. You really believe all that sciency stuff? I believe it was Increase Mather who dated the exact time of the creation of the Earth. Are you claiming to be smarter than the famous puritan clergyman?

Yes, I spend too much time watching Science channel and National Geographic channel. I need to spend more time going over the generations after Adam & Eve in my Genesis and Exodus. Then I will be better educated, like the Texas school board chairman.
