lethal cocktail of liberty and capitalism

This is the description of the West according to spokesman for Hizb ut Tahrir a Muslim group that espouses the non-violent destruction of Western democracy.

It warms the heart to know that Islam is such a tolerant religion. They are really the big tent group in the world. Just think about it a lethal cocktail, meaning a blending of deadly materials, and what are these lethal ingredients? Liberty and capitalism. No these people don't hate America. They don't hold any ill will toward us. Gee, they just consider the bedrock of our society as lethal ingredients in a lethal cocktail. We should by all means embrace them and their religion of peace.

Koran abuse

A group called the Book of Signs Foundation is leaving copies of the Koran on doorsteps in Houston. It frequently rains in Houston. Some of these holy books might get wet and be damaged. Shouldn't Muslims around the world rise up and riot in the streets over disrespect for the word of the Prophet? They certainly did when a false rumor was circulated that a Koran was dropped in a toilet at Guantanamo.

But, I am certain, that this is just another example of Muslims being inconsistent. Muslim art has a long tradition of images of Mohammed, but if his image is used in the West it will bring a Fatwah.

A pox on this religion of hatred and murder.

Poor pitiful Muslims

Wow, the Muslims are now upset because a puppy was used in an advertisement. What a God awful bunch of asshats they are. I can't claim to really give a damn when Muslims decide to be offended, but this really does take the cake. And perhaps even more offensive is that an apology was issued.

I hope that my country never becomes this politically correct. I can't really relate how loathsome this type of kowtowing to one group of religious fanatics is.

Muslims show no respect for the beliefs of others; why should they be allowed to dictate what is appropriate to the rest of us?

Having a fit over "Fitna"

“Fitna” is the title of a video created by a Dutch politician named Geert Wilders. The video is posted on file sharing sites, such as YouTube, Google and initially LiveLeaks (it was pulled off the site this weekend due to serious threats against staff.) The short film is critical of Islamism. So you can guess what the reaction to it has been; wild rantings about how unfair it is, calls for Mr. Wilders death, etc., etc., ad nauseum.

The Muslim nations have of course taken the Dutch government to task and demanded apologies, even though Mr. Wilders acted as a free citizen exercising his freedom of expression.

Having viewed the video it is difficult to understand what the complaint is. It seems that everything displayed is factual. Islamist did indeed destroy the World Trade Center. They did bomb the trains in Spain. They did blow up buses in London. They did decapitate Nick Berg. They did murder Theo van Gogh. They do have spiritual leaders calling for the extermination of the Jews. They do call for the destruction of the West. This is clearly a piece of anti-Islamist propaganda, but should the West stand idly by and allow a crazed fringe of Islam to destroy us?

I am certain that someone could find passages in the Bible that are equally as disturbing as those lifted from the Koran in the film. However, it would be difficult to find the images of Christians committing mass murder in the name of religion, and of respected Christian theologians calling for the death of all Muslims.

Mr. Wilders claims to be an atheist, so it is fair to assume that his problem is not one of his beliefs are better than another. But, that he truly fears the threat that the Islamist present to the Netherlands, Europe and the West as a whole.

It is time for those of us who appreciate our democracy and freedoms to stop being politically correct, and to speak out when we know something is clearly wrong. Our enemies do not respect our culture, why must we respect theirs?

End of rant.
