Is it getting warm in here?

The Telegraph is publishing doubts about global warming. It seems, from my reading, that global warming is a more widely accepted theory in the UK. So, this took some fortitude.

The Russian scientists expect temperatures to cool and report that temperatures in Eastern Siberia have been cooling since 1995, I read in Vanity Fair. The article then went on to pooh-pooh the idea and talked about the mammoth tusks being unearthed by the melting permafrost. The bottom line I think is that nobody knows what will happen to the climate.

Cousin Mark, I believe that is exactly right. I read articles where the alarmists claim that cooling temperatures are masking global warming, that is, to put it politely, plain stupid. It was 101 here yesterday, which completely masked the cooling effects of La Nina.

Since no one really seems able to predict climate it seems sensible to do what we can to be eco-friendly, but not to bankrupt the worlds' economies trying to eliminate human impact.
